curriculum development FAQs

what subjects do you cover?

Although I’m trained in science education and communication, the skills I’ve gained in my graduate studies, especially around outcome-based learning are applicable to a wide range of subjects. Additionally, my experiences with Design Thinking and facilitation inform my ability to flexibly and empathically approach most, if not all, subjects of study, due to the process-oriented nature of my work rather than solely content-focused.

educator professional development?

Although I’m not currently an accredited entity, I have experience leading and facilitating educator professional development workshops, as well as one-on-one collaborative sessions. As a former educator myself, I understand how draining and irrelevant PD can feel sometimes, and I strive to cultivate meaningful, interesting engagement within our work together.

what do I get out of working together?

Depending on your goal, our work together could produce:

  • assessment tools for lesson planning and development

  • practical, adjustable lesson materials

  • a new methodology for engaging with content (for you, dear educator, and your students)

But all in all, I sincerely love working with curious, engaged educators and seeing how I can best serve their needs as they do one of the hardest jobs imaginable.

what have you done before?

Thanks for asking :)

In my previous internship work with the school garden program of the Municipality of Amsterdam, I collaboratively produced an Inquiry-Based Learning (Onderzoekend Leren) H2 matrix with a fellow intern and developed a workshop series around supporting garden educators implementing it in their teaching practices.

This tool is anchored in scientific literature about the scientific method, inquiry-based learning, and can be used both to develop new lesson materials as well as evaluate current materials and teaching strategies.
